The aptly named red rattlers were on the whole uncomfortable and unsafe but I have a fondness for them.
The doors opened outward onto the Station and it was a fairly simple matter to knock down those unfortunates waiting on the platform a little too close to the edge. You couldn’t get a pram into one of those carriages either and had to travel in the Guard’s van.
